Shattered

Earlier in the year Carl had seen a shot done 'badly' in Photoshop of a model in a similar pose to the Shattered shot and knife blades had been superimposed onto her body in post. We lovely the concept of the shot but not how it had been executed. We wanted to do a variation of the shot but with glass, specifically shards of glass. Carl experimented with sugar glass, plastic glass and even 3mm plexi glass but none seemed to give the effect we wanted. We had some frosted perspex in the studio from a previous prop and breaking this up into sections with a hammer and then gluing them to a flat base gave us a very light weight and stable base to glue them to Danielle Marie. Gemma really pulled out all the stops on the makeup for this one but we knew this shot needed to come to life in post production so if you roll your mouse over the image below you will see what came out of the camera compared to what the finished image looks like. We also included a few behind the scenes shots taken by Sarah Murphy on the day.
