FAQ

Here are some answers to Frequently Asked Questions.
Feel free to contact us if you don’t find the answers your looking for here.

Q: Can we bring a chaperone or friend?
A: Chaperone's and friends are always welcome and encouraged, however due to space restrictions we would like you to limit this to one person.

Q: How old do I have to be to shoot with Red Tree Studio?
A: All models must be 18 years old with photographic ID available upon request.

Q: Are the shoots paid?
A: Payment terms must be worked out and agreed with the photographer before the shoot, but as a general rule all of our shoots are paid even if they are TFP/TFCD.

Q: How long will it take to get copies of the prints/images?
A: You will normally be able to download/view the images from the shoot in the gallery section within a couple of days. Getting the prints and CD's to you will take up to two weeks.

Q: Who owns the copyright to the images?
A: The copyright remains the property of the photographer, however permission is given to the model to use the images for any purposes they see fit including, but not exclusively promotional and advertisement work.

Q: Why are the images watermarked?
A: Red Tree Studio does not charge any models for the shoots we do, so in return we would like recognition for our work. If you are going to use one of our images on a website we would like the Red Tree logo to be displayed. If the image is going into print we would like a credit for the studio/photographer.

Q: Are your photographers professional?
A: By definition of the word 'professional' this means that the photographer makes his living from Photography so the answer is no. This does not mean that we do not treat every shoot professionally and that the studio is not fully kitted out in the latest equipment. We expect everyone involved to act professionally, while we do not make our living form photography we are all very keen amateurs and take this very seriously.

Q: Can we bring children to the shoot?
A: No one under the age of 18 is permitted into the studio without express permission of the Photographer before the shoot.

Q: What is TFP?
A: TFP is an acronymic for 'Time For Print' where the model gets to shoot with an experienced photographer for free and the photographer gives the models prints from the shoot.

Q: What is TFCD?
A: TFP is an acronymic for 'Time For Compact Disc' where the model gets to shoot with an experienced photographer for free and the photographer gives the models a CD of the images from the shoot.

Q: How do we find you?
A: Full directions and a map are available in the contact us section but we will usually arrange to meet you at The Royal Hotel on the main street of Bray (the only hotel on the main street). We are almost opposite and there is parking in the studio grounds.

Q: Will there be a Make Up Artist (MUA)?
A: Unless discussed and agreed before the shoot there will be no MUA and you will be expected to do your own makeup.

Q: Will costumes and clothes be supplied for the shoot?
A: Unless discussed and agreed before you will be expected to bring a selection of your own clothes to suit the shoot.

Q: Is the studio available for rent by another photographer?
A: We are trying to run the studio on a 'non profit' basis and as such it is not available for rental, however if another photographer comes to us with a concept and an idea that we like, and can get involved in, we would be delighted to offer it to them for free. All we ask for in return is a mention and a credit in any of the work they produce. We have worked with several photographers so far.

Q: What happens if I cancel a shoot?
A: We accept that unforseen circumstances happen and cancellations are sometimes unavoidable but we put a lot of time, effort, and organisation into our shoots and there are usually other parties involved like set builders, make up artists, costume designers etc. so last minute cancellations without a good reason are frowned upon and will usually result in you not getting booked again.

Q: What is the procedure for dispute resolution regarding any of the items above?
A: A full statement regarding the dispute must be submitted in writing within 14 days of the shoot to the contact details in the contact us section.
